Feb 1 Seven Islands State Birding Park, Kodak, TN. This state park was created for bird watching. The grasslands and the river create a habitat for more than 180 species of birds. The history of this park renews our faith in preserving our lands for their specific purposes. This park was owned and operated by the Kelly family. Their farmhouse is still standing on the property. Preservationists gradually acquired the land and donated it to the Knox Co. Parks and Rec. Dept. In 2013 it became the 56th State Park in TN. Let's meet at the Cracker Barrel at the Straw Plains Exist off I-40 East at 9:00am ET and carpool a short distance to the Park.
