Join Crescent Ski Council Ski Week at Whitefish, Montana! Come ski more than 3,000 acres of every kind of terrain that you can imagine, including five terrain parks. Whitefish receives an average of 300 inches of snow per season. The base elevation is 4,464 feet and the summit is 6,817 feet.
In addition to alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing is available in the National Forest areas around Whitefish and in Glacier National Park which is only a 30-minute drive away. Other activities available include dogsledding, snowmobiling, back country cat skiing, snowbiking, fat tire biking, ice fishing, ranger-led hikes in Glacier National Park, and sleigh ride dinners. There are also lodge igloos to enjoy views of Whitefish Lake and lakefront saunas.
Ride the free S.N.O.W bus to the town of Whitefish to enjoy dining and shopping. This historic town was founded in 1905 when The Great Norther Railway was built. In fact, Amtrak's Empire Builder line arrives twice daily at the historic Whitefish Railway Depot that travels between Chicago, Seattle, and Portland.
